Hello, travelers! 🌍 I'm Hallen from Sunny Day Trip, and if you're planning a trip to Tenerife, let me tell you that you've chosen a spectacular destination. As a lover of this incredible island, I want to share with you my 10 favorite places that you simply can't miss. Hold on tight, we're off on an adventure!
1. Teide
First things first, you can't visit Tenerife without going up Mount Teide. This imposing volcano is the highest peak in Spain, and I promise you that the views from the top will take your breath away. Friendly tip: if you can, book your ticket for the cable car in advance and bring a jacket - it's cold up there even if it's warm on the beach!
2. Chew
This little town hidden among the mountains looks like something out of a movie. Masca is perfect for a day of hiking. The road to the ravine is challenging, but the views are more than rewarding. Tip: Be very careful if you are a new driver, it is 5 km of a single lane road but TWO WAY, with the ravine on one side and the mountain on the other. It is not recommended to go if you do not feel confident on this type of road or if you are new to driving.
3. Garachico
Garachico is a charming village with an incredible history. It was partially destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1706, but was rebuilt and is now one of the prettiest villages on the island. My tip? Visit the natural pools of El Caletón. They are perfect for a refreshing dip.
4. The Lagoon
If you love history, La Laguna is your place. This UNESCO World Heritage city is full of cobblestone streets, old churches, and a cool college vibe. I recommend wandering aimlessly, you'll discover charming corners and cafes that will make you feel like a local.
5. The Giants
These stunning cliffs will make you feel tiny. It's like the land is rising straight out of the ocean! I suggest taking a boat to see them from the water and if you're lucky, you might even spot dolphins. An unforgettable experience!
6. The Millenary Dragon Tree
This iconic tree in Icod de los Vinos is a symbol of Tenerife. They say it is over a thousand years old, and although I am not a botanist to confirm this, the truth is that being close to it makes you feel in touch with history and nature. Don't forget to take a photo!
7. Anaga
Anaga is a hidden gem in the northeast of the island. It is one of the greenest and wildest areas of Tenerife, ideal for hiking lovers. A tip: wear comfortable shoes and don't forget your camera, because the landscapes will leave you speechless.
8. Las Teresitas Beach
Sometimes you just need a nice day at the beach, and Las Teresitas is the perfect place for that. This golden sandy beach is ideal for relaxing. The last time I was there, I fell asleep under a palm tree and woke up just in time for an ice cream. Life is good in Tenerife!
9. Cave of the Wind
Feeling adventurous? The Cueva del Viento in Icod is one of the largest volcanic tubes in the world. Exploring it is like entering another world. My advice is to book a guided tour, as they will explain all the secrets of this underground wonder.
10. Stargazing on Teide
I'll close this list with a magical experience: stargazing on Mount Teide. The first time I did it, I was speechless. The sky over Tenerife is one of the best places in the world for astronomy. Tip: wrap up warm, and if you can, bring a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. It's an experience you won't forget!
I hope this list inspires you to explore Tenerife from end to end. Every corner of this island has something special to offer, and I promise that every visit will leave you wanting more. Which of these places are you most looking forward to visiting? Let me know in the comments! And if you have any questions or need any additional tips, I'll be happy to help.
See you on the next adventure! 🌟
